ALPHARETTA, GA – May 25, 2018 – While it is true that our GIS experts at InterDev focus mainly on providing award winning analysis for our local government clients, many of our team members give of their free time to promote and influence the larger GIS sphere. Two members of the InterDev GIS team, Langdon Sanders and Amber Keller recently competed in the Healthcare Hackathon 2018 sponsored by Pitney Bowes, RCG Global Services, and the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG). Their innovative solution was named the winner and the team took home the first-place prize of $5,000.

Their team, cleverly named ArcNap, created a solution that analyzed and measured healthcare accessibility for various demographics and subsequently linked those populations to healthcare providers within their given area. The team utilized a combination of ArcGIS Desktop, PostGIS, and QGIS all hosted in the cloud. Featured as a core component in their solution was InterDev’s own industry leading cloud-based GIS platform, MosaicGIS, which was used for all of the GIS.

Amber Keller best summarized the experience, saying “Our team was just SO AWESOME…Combined with the amazing power and skills of the two programmers on the team, it took our work to a whole other level.”

While Sanders and Keller are experts in their own right, here at InterDev we live and breathe the value of teamwork. Sander’s and Keller’s ability to relate to and work with complete strangers to symbiotically maximize the team’s strengths is an impressive representation of how the entire InterDev team works together every day.
