FLEETSAFE
CORPORATION
Fleet Import and Management
Fleetsafe Corporation, the leading Hows My Driving?
vehicle tracking firm, wanted to allow its customers to manage
their fleet information without have to route their requests
through the expensive data entry department. Additionally, Fleetsafe
wanted its employees to have the capability to bulk import extremely
large fleets quickly using Excel. This would eliminate the huge
temporary staff that they often employed to meet demanding time
constraints.
Interdev utilized object orientated techniques, ASP, SQL, JavaScript,
the Excel object, and stored procedure calls to develop an intuitive
user design. more |

HELMAC
PRODUCTS CORPORATION
Forecasting and Reporting System
While Helmac Products' consumer goods manufacturing business
had successfully weathered the economic spin at the end of the
nineties, it became clear to CEO Nick McKay that the company
needed to have a clearer picture of its economic future. Their
existing forecasting systems were outdated and cumbersome and
did not integrate well with their new SQL Server based proprietary
systems. It was difficult to rapidly generate forecast reports,
test sales scenarios, and maintain accurate data.
We used Visual Basic 6.0 with interface control tools from FarPoint
to develop an intuitive data entry system that could also be
used for a visual review of forecast estimates. more |

RAILCAR,
LTD.
Railcar Inventory Database (RID)
Railcar Ltd., a multi-million dollar railcar management company,
needed a complete and total re-haul of their database. Their
original system was a flat file database that was difficult
to navigate and even more difficult to use. Only two of Railcar's
employees had the ability to extract the necessary data from
the system. The backlog of data requests as well as cumbersome
navigation, were a tremendous burden to the company and its
users.
The priority was to get an easy to use yet scalable solution
up as soon as possible. Microsoft Access fit the bill perfectly
as it is user friendly, is highly programmable, and most importantly,
can be migrated easily to the more powerful SQL Server. more |
